As we tour visitors through the museum, we explain the various uses of oscilloscopes in a wide range of applications. We built a small sensor exhibit to be able to demonstrate some of the various inputs that could be monitored, measured, or observed on an oscilloscope. This small exhibit has 5 different sensors that can be viewed on the oscilloscope.
Medical - a Sparkfun pulse sensor
Magnetics - a Hall sensor
Optical - a CdS photo resistor
Rotational - a potentiometer
Vibration/Pressure - a crystal phonograph pickup
A rotary switch selects the various sensor and your finger, a LED flashlight, and magnet provides for an interactive experience.
