Tektronix actively encouraged the health and welfare of the employees. Seven pages in the 1956 Employee Handbook are devoted to health and safety. They had a reserved time each week at the Red Cross with a goal of six employees to donate. Tektronix eventually had an on-site nurse in building 81. On-site nurses were expanded to designated buildings on their other sites.

Later Red Cross blood donations occurred on site at the Sunset plant.

 

They also held vaccinations on site at Sunset. These are likely polio vaccinations but flu vaccinations continued in following years.

 

They held this on-site chest x-ray event at the Sunset plant likely for early detection for tuberculosis.
