Early Waveform Generator
An individual sent us these photos of an unknown waveform generator. This was likely an internal test unit and possibly a Field Engineer demonstration tool. There are three elements that help to pinpoint the date - rough alligator texture, glass epoxy PCB with eyelets, and Germanium PNP transistors.
The alligator texture points to the 1950s. Tektronix first phenolic printed circuit board was in 1955 and glass epoxy ponts to the early 1960s. The Germanium PNP transistors also point to the early 1960s so our best guess is 1961 or 1962. It is surprising that there is no part number anywhere. Let us know if you have any more information.
One of our volunteers did a spice model of this circuit. Click on the image to view the PDF.
