Fire In Former vintageTEK Museum Building
A 3 alarm fire broke out in the commercial building formerly occupied by the vintageTEK museum just after 8 AM on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at 4626 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. Although in the same building, the fire was west of the area previously occupied by the museum.
This KATU Channel 2 photo shows the front of the building. Through the windshield of the firetruck you can make out the letters "EK" on the "vintageTEK sign that still hangs in front of the building. The green lower portion to the left of the awning is the front of the former showroom and the restoration work area was located to the east (left) of the photo.

Thanks for your writeup and photo of fire, provided me by ex-tek Ann Arnold. Three offices (Joe’s Burgers Corporate, Beaverton Farmers Market, and Grand Cru office) have taken refuge in the former Tek Museum area, and Equipoise, the Pilates lady above the Museum, may join them. The cause of fire appears to be ransacking and theft in an office, concluded by arson; method of entry not apparent. We are distraught, everyone is working together to help each other, and demolition and cleanup have commenced. Regards, Gary Hoselton, building owner and ex-tek.
It is great to hear everyone is working together to help each other in the midst of all the mess. Team work is what has helped build this nation. Too bad the present administration seems to buck that concept and put ‘I’ before ‘we’.
Thanks for all that you have done,
Bruce
