The museum operates 100% on volunteers. Our volunteers have spent countless hours with energy and determination to create and operate the museum. The Board of Directors created a Hall of Fame to honor those volunteers who have made outstanding contributions.
For induction into the Volunteer Hall of Fame, an individual must meet all of these criteria:
- Maintains a positive volunteer experience and supports other volunteers
- Role model for volunteers
- Sustained and meaningful contributions over a considerable length of time
- Improves the quality of the experience of visitors to the museum and/or website
- Promotes and participates in youth STEM activities
They must also meet a number of other criteria including supporting our mission of STEM, supporting visitor and email requests, improving museum operations, and supporting overall tours and remote events.
Bruce Baur was unanimously inducted as our first volunteer in our Hall of Fame. Bruce was a charter volunteer, helping to organize the museum, restoring instruments, and helping other volunteers prior to the museum's opening. He restored a great deal of instruments and gave extensive tours. He actively supported our STEM outreach with many remote exhibits. His presence as a Board Member for many years helped establish and guide the vintageTEK museum.
Bob Haas was unanimously inducted as our second volunteer in our Hall of Fame. Bob started volunteering at our original location and began with instrument repair and established our eBay webstore, which he ran for many years. Bob also established our YouTube channel and made videos to help others with repairs. He participated on many STEM events and designed several of our hands-on exhibits. He designed and sold many demo boards to Tektronix enthusiasts. He volunteered for many events and gave a great number of tours. His leadership as a Board Member and Chairman helped the museum become what it is, including the move to the Tektronix campus.
