Single Line Color CRT
An associate of the museum brought it a unique CRT. This is obviously a single line CRT but the faceplate has different color sections. In this front view you can see the mounting posts on the bottom side of the CRT.
It is large, long, and heavy with a ceramic body.
The top side has several labels and informational text.
It was made and sold by Thomas Electronics.
This writing indicates a date of December 22, 2000.
The bottom side has three massive mounting posts.
The gun assembly doesn't show a lot of detail. There are no neck pins.
The ceramic body has all the earmarks of being manufactured by Tektronix. The ceramics operation was spun off in 1994 from Tektronix as Vispro Corporation, a supplier of LTCC multi-layer ceramic substrates and structural ceramic components. In January of 2000 Kyocera America, Inc. acquired VisPro Corporation. Their press release states "Effective January 12, 2000, VisPro has become a new division of Kyocera America, Inc. The new division's 60 employees will continue to operate out of their Beaverton, Oregon facility."
This reinforces our assessment that this funnel was manufactured by the former Tektronix ceramic operation in building 13.
