Electronic Design Magazine Pays Tribute To T-Coils
Tektronix used T-Coils as a peaking circuit to improve the bandwidth of its oscilloscope designs in the 1960s through the 1990s. Engineer Bob Ross derived the design equations and Tektronix kept this as a trade secret in its use in oscilloscopes and other products.
Electronic Design Magazine has written an article What's All This T-Coil Stuff Anyhow that highlights the T-Coil and gives tribute to Bob Ross and his pioneering work. Stanford Professor Tom Lee is also quoted in the article with his insights and observations on the origin and use of the T-Coil.
