Museum Acquires New Scanner
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the museum has acquired a new scanner for manuals. Our old auto-feed scanner was no longer functional and we have been relying upon our multi-purpose printer to do scanning. We recently purchased a Canon DR-M1060 scanner which works extremely well and is a great asset for the museum.
This commercial grade scanner scans both sides of the page in a single pass and will scan at one page per second. However, the great feature for the museum is it will scan the multi-page foldout schematics in one pass. To do that we change the paper exit to the front which requires 26 inches at the rear of the scanner for feeding the fold-out pages and another 26 inches in front of the scanner for the pages to exit. As such we have this scanner in our conference room to be able to use the large table.
We recently scanned a 948 page 4200 Series Programmer's Manual and the time savings over our previous method of scanning was incredible. Your contributions to the museum do make a lasting impact.
