vintageTEK Scans Transformer Drawings
The vintageTEK museum has scanned transformers drawings widely sought-after by collectors and restorers of vintage Tektronix products. These drawings are scans of microfiche which detail the construction and specifications for the 120- series of transformers. They include the transformer voltage, current and frequency specifications as well as the wire size and number of turns. Since Tektronix transformers were custom designed and manufactured this information is critical for any reconstruction efforts.
This initial set of transformer drawings includes part numbers 120-0006-00 to 120-0998-01. The transformer part number is found in the Electrical Parts List in the instrument Instruction Manual. In addition, the transformer part number may be looked up in the Replaceable Parts Registry for a listing of all instruments that transformer was used in and revision changes based on instrument serial numbers.
These two examples of the Type 547 oscilloscope low and high voltage transformers show the detail included in these drawings.
These drawings are contained in three PDF files:
Transformers 120-0006-00 to 120-0499-00
Transformers 120-0500-00 to 120-0998-01
Transformers 120-1007-00 to 120-1349-00
They are hosted on TekWiki at Reference Material (external site). This effort represents over 20 hours of scanning by volunteers.
Additional part numbers will be scanned as volunteer time is available. The museum is proud to be able to contribute to the restoration effort of vintage Tektronix products and worked with Tektronix to be able to release these drawings.
