Euroscope – UK and Heerenveen
In 1958 Tektronix set up a manufacturing facility on the island of Guernsey in the English Channel to facilitate sales of Tek instruments in Europe. This was followed by production facilities at Heerenveen in the Netherlands and Hoddesdon in the UK and a sales office there in Harpenden. This ad, from the February 1983 issue of the British trade publication, Wireless World, touts the 2213 and 2215, two members of the 2200 series of portable scopes that were manufactured at Hoddesdon. These were single and dual-channel oscilloscopes, respectively, with a bandwidth of 60MHz.
Hoddesdon followed with the design and manufacturing of the 2225 oscilloscope which was referred to as the "Euroscope". When production at Hoddesdon ceased in 1989, production shifted to Heerenveen.
This Google translation of the Heerenveen Troniek personnel magazine from July 1989 describes the 1000th Euroscope delivered. Note that Google Translate did not recognize Euroscoop and translate it to Euroscope.. Click on the image to view the full page translation PDF.
We also have this photo of the Euroscope T-shirt.
After Heerenveen assumed production from Hoddesdon, they designed the 2212 and 2216 oscilloscopes as follow-ons for the 2211 and 2214 oscilloscopes which were designed at Hoddesdon.
