We came across this letter dated December 8, 1961, and addressed to Loekie de Jong, one of Heerenveen's earliest employees.
For those that can't read Dutch, we translated the letter to English.
The hourly wage of f 0,68 refers to the Dutch florin or guilder. The florin / guilder was the currency of the Netherlands from the 15th century until 2002, when it was replaced by the euro. NLG refers to Netherland guilder and the hourly rate to weekly wage reflects a 45 hour work week.
This photo was taken in 1962. Loekie De Jong is on the left, a young Earl Wantland is in the center, and Hennie de Jong is on the right.
