Tektronix’ Court of Claims case ‘est finis’
The January 19, 1979 the TekWeek headline reads: Tektronix' Court of Claims case 'est finis'. The lawsuit was filed by Tektronix in February 1961. The U.S. Government - Army Signal Corps and US Air Force - awarded contracts for the Tektronix 535 and 545 to Hickock electrical Instrument Company, Cleveland; and to Jetronics, Inc of Philadelphia. Also to LaVoie Labs (not mentioned in this article) for violating Tek Patents. Tek won every round and appeals, and then a week or so ago, the payment of $4.5M was made to Tektronix by the US government. The $4.5M will be reckoned as company income, and will help boost profit share a little, less than 4 percentage points on the profit share percentage to be paid on the January 25, 1979 paycheck.
