Film Made At vintageTEK Museum
The Lies I Can Hold is a short film made as part of the Portland, OR, 48 Hour Sci Fi and Horror Film Project. Part of it was filmed at the vintageTEK museum.
The 48 Hour Film Horror Sci-Fi Project [external link] is a fast-paced filmmaking competition where teams write, shoot, and edit a short film in just one weekend. The competition runs on select weekends across various cities globally, including Portland.
At Friday night kickoffs, participants receive their assigned genre (Sci-Fi or Horror) along with a mandatory character, prop, and line of dialogue.
The Lies I Can Hold tells the story of Phyllis, a door-to-door saleswoman recruiting people into her boss's multi-level-marketing scheme. The only catch? It comes at the low cost of your soul. The Lies I Can Hold was produced by Stone & Sky Media.
This film won for Best Music (composed by Randall Marsh, one of the actors) and was nominated for Best Sci-Fi, Best Character, and Best Production Design.
The filmmakers wish to extend their gratitude to the vintageTEK museum and the volunteers who helped make this project.
